What is Obstructive Sleep Apnea


Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a sleep disorder caused by a physical blockage of the airway during sleep. When the muscles in the throat relax, the airway can narrow or collapse, temporarily stopping breathing and lowering oxygen levels. These repeated breathing pauses disrupt sleep and can lead to loud snoring, gasping or choking at night, and ongoing daytime fatigue. With proper diagnosis and treatment, OSA is very manageable and sleep quality often improves significantly.
